My computer died a few weeks ago and went to tech heaven. I'm not on the computer very often - so I haven't been posting as often. We took Levi in for his 2 month check up and they said he is a big boy. He is in the 96 percentile for length. He is laughing and smiling all the time - and he started giggling 2 days ago!! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past couple weeks!!

Love Bath Time

Yes, I know you are supposed to use the least amount of water possible when bathing - but for the purpose of helping him go to the bathroom you need to fill it up to his chest!!

My friend Brenda just sent me a bunch of pictures from when she came down to meet Levi in the hospital, and from our visit with her and her girls a few weeks ago!!

Constipation

Levi was constipated and miserable for quite a few days. First, the doctor had us put 1/2 teaspoon of dark Karo Syrup in his bottle. That worked the first time we did it, but then it stopped working. Second, the doctor had us use Babylax - a liquid suppository. Even though it was effective immediately, neither Levi or I enjoyed that at all. Then they told me to massage his rectal area with a Q-tip covered with lubricant - that was not effective at all. Finally, I began giving Levi a bath twice a day. I would fill his bath tub up to his chest, put a wash cloth over him to keep him warm, and I would rub his intestines. This works so well!! I am now down to one bath at bedtime and he is going regularly again! Plus, he sleeps so well after having a nice relaxing bath. He even falls asleep in there sometimes!! WARNING: They may poop in the bath - but that is good!! It is amazing how my baby's poop doesn't gross me out! :)

Tips

John's parents came in from Missouri and his sister flew in from Hawaii to meet Levi! They were a great help and had so much fun with him!! I got some great tips from them while they were here.

First of all, Levi's little bottom has been raw since he had to have antibiotics in the hospital. It had little sores that were bleeding. John's mom said we should use Baby Oil Gel with flat cotton balls to clean him up. It has worked wonders!! He doesn't cry when we wipe him and it cleans him really well. His little booty is definitely getting better now!!

Secondly, John's sister, Dawn, suggested we get baby Acidopholus to add to his bottle once a day. This helps his digestive system and will help his bottom heal. So now he gets at least one bottle a day. I love that John can feed him too. My mom found these great bottles online that are similar to the shape of the breast and the flow is a lot slower so the baby doesn't get overwhelmed with the difference. They are called Adiri and they have different stages of bottles as the baby gets older.

I know there are other great tips I got but I can't seem to remember them right now! :) I will post photos from their visit soon!!

Dawson always lays his back against Levi when we are feeding him. He is still adjusting to having someone else around to compete with for attention.

Proud Grandpa

Levi is 3 weeks old today!! We were originally scheduled to be induced 2 days ago on October 7th! I am so thankful we were able to have him early! It is amazing how much he has changed when you look back at the pictures!!

Levi and Abrielle

We finally got together with Wendy and Brannan last night!! Wendy was due 3 weeks before me and we had our babies on the same day!! Abrielle is their 2nd little girl!!
